This is second time Xoom has been released and it has no support for GSM voice communication, SMS and MMS. It is basically not a GSM device it will not work on any GSM netwok worldwide. Earlier the same tablet was available in both GSM and CDMA versions and are still available in the market, but the latest upgraded model does not support any of the connectivity. Differentiating with previous variants, this new tab has upgraded honeycomb OS, Gorilla Glass Display and 3D virtual surround sound. Motorola launched these two tablets (Motorola Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition) for UK and Ireland
Xoom 2 has a powerful 1.2 ghz dual core processer and it works on Android 3.2 Honeycomb Operating system and NVIDIA Tegra 2 chipset. I think think these all details make it a distinct tablet from all other tabs. It has 3d virtual surround sound which is also a unique feature.
BODY AND WEIGHT
Motorola Xoom 2 comes with Dimensions 253.9 x 173.6 x 8.8 mm and it has a weight of 599 grams. Going through the above dimensions, it can be easily conclude that it is quite thin and stylish in looks as it has cutting edges.
Xoom 2 comes with an Android OS version 3.2 (Honeycomb). It supports the Browser with HTML and Adobe Flash files. It is JAVA enabled via Java MIDP emulator, it is also installed with document viewer (word, excel, powerpoint & PDF) and image editor for picture editing.
DISPLAY AND CAMERA
It has TFT 10.2 inch screen for Xoom 2 and 8.2 inch for Xoom 2 Media Edition. Its captivative Touch Screen giving 16 million colors producing the resolution 800 x 1280 pixels. It is Multitouch enabled and have a Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Motorola Xoom 2 comes with a 5 MP Camera on the rear side with Led flash and 1.3 MP camera in the front side.
Motorola Xoom 2 is integrated with Wifi, it is also Bluetooth enabled having version 2.1 with A2DP, EDR. It provides USB connectivity with MicroUSB version 2.0 and HDMI port for clear picture and voice clarity.
MEMORY AND BATTERY LIFE
Xoom 2 has a 16 GB of inbuilt storage capacity and 1 GB of RAM for fast processing, it is not having any card slot. It has standard battery, Li-Ion which has a talk time of 600 min (Xoom 2) & 360 min (Xoom 2 Media Edition).
PRICE AND RELEASE DATE
The expected price of Motorola Xoom 2 is yet to be announced. The tablet has been announced in November and its Release date is expected to be around end of December 2011.
